Why I chose DU: I came from a very small high school (I graduated with 19 other students), and visited just about every college in the state of Colorado. I loved the fact that DU had small class sizes and personable faculty. But the best part about DU was the fact that I could see myself here. I could envision myself going crazy at a hockey game, living in Johnson-McFarlane, and learning from some absolutely phenomenal professors. Something just clicked, and I have never regretted my decision.
My favorite memory at DU: We play a game of water-rugby in the pool, and named it Bratz. Don’t ask me why. My friends and I play every Thursday night, and it is a source of constant ribbing during the week. I love it.
Internship Experience while at DU: I have two internships at the moment, one with a water-law related organization called the Colorado Water Congress and another with the campaign to elect Andrew Romanoff to the U.S. Senate. I found both internships through great professors that really wanted to help me find an internship.
Why I chose to study abroad: I chose to study abroad in Rome, Italy. Part of my father’s ancestry is from Italy, and I have always been fascinated about Roman history, with the advancement of democracy in particular. I loved Rome, with the somehow seamless mix of modern buildings with ancient structures. I also was able to travel around Europe and sort of compare cultures and societies. Being a senior, I miss studying abroad, but it was an excellent experience.
