Why I choose DU: Choosing DU versus another university was pretty black and white.  The location here is superb. DU is situated right in the midst of the mountains and the downtown skyline, and it’s so convenient to retreat to wilderness or have a fun night out on the town.  Besides location, the idea of small classes and personal attention from professors was extremely appealing.  Above all, the opportunity to study abroad and experience different cultures was the driving force behind my final decision to make DU my home.

Favorite Memory of DU:  Deejaying for KVDU and for Bellfield FM in Dublin, Ireland.

Internship Experience while at DU:  I interned during the summer of ’08 for a company called Southwestern.  With the freedom of independently contracting my own business I was able to develop my communication skills, sales skills, learn goal setting, and among other things I earned enough money to fund my year abroad.

Why I chose to study abroad:   The opportunity to travel while being exposed to other cultures was unbeatable. I broke my experience up between two countries to fulfill credits in both my major and my minor and to get a broader sense of the differences between countries in Europe.  I chose to study in Madrid, Spain for the first semester to enhance my language skills and gain further understanding of the country.  Ireland offered a great business program but beyond that I’ve always been entranced by the rich scenery and the culture of my heritage.  Traveling to other countries and interacting with locals was, above all else, the most valued relic of my abroad experience.  My eyes were opened to a world that before had merely been an idea.
