Why I chose DU:
When I was going through the college application process, I was most concerned about finding a college that offered unique opportunities for students and had small student faculty ratios. I chose DU because it had everything that I felt would be important during my college experience and many other programs that fully engage students in the curriculum. I am very pleased with my choice. I have discovered that the small class sizes at DU are really beneficial, especially as a science major. In my lecture classes, I found that my professors know me by name and are dedicated and passionate about teaching their students. Also, DU has the unique Charrington Global Scholars Program that provides students with an exclusive opportunity to study abroad and develop cross-cultural understanding. During the fall of my junior year, I plan on studying abroad in Costa Rica which will compliment my Spanish minor.

My favorite memory at DU:
The most rewarding experience I have had at DU so far was spearheading an event entitled, “A Tribute to Black Entertainment.” As February approached, I saw the need to have a formal event which was both educational and entertaining and recognized important figures in African-American history during Black History Month. The end product was a night that featured fifteen live performances by students and community members and incorporated educational pieces through visual presentations and a local keynote speaker. There was an outstanding turnout of students and community members. What made me the most proud was that the University was so impressed with the outcome of the event that they asked me to make “A Tribute to Black Entertainment” an annual event.
