One of the most rewarding parts of Abiola Balogun's experience at DU has been being a part of various student organizations and meeting so many people with varying backgrounds. The Daniels College of Business has exposed Abiola to a lot of what the business world has to offer. "The professors and the classes have really opened my eyes and have been very rewarding" says Balogun. She feels that during her time at DU, her favorite moments have been spending time with friends that she met at DU and attending some the DU basketball games.
Abiola also enjoyed many of the interesting social events, including the cultural show that the International House conducted during Black History Month. "My department and the professors have been especially nice and kind to me and have been very supportive. I have a good friendly relationship with most of my accounting professors including the Dean of my department" said Balogun. She feels that, when comparing DU to universities back home in Nigeria, it is more personal, competitive and definitely more flexible. "I didn't begin to appreciate the facilities we had here at the University of Denver until I visited other universities out of state, and then I came to really value DU more."
