Tuition and Expenses

The following is a breakdown of the MINIMUM expenses for undergraduate and graduate international students at the University of Denver for the 2008-2009 academic year. These estimates do not include clothing expenses, international or local travel. Moreover, the estimates quoted below assume a moderate lifestyle in which students share living quarters and expenses with a roommate.

All students are required to have health insurance. If you do not already have an insurance plan, one may be purchased through DU, estimated to cost approximately $2,350 in the 2008-09 academic year.

Additionally, all undergraduate students must pay a mandatory student activity fee of $100 per quarter ($300 yearly), and all graduate students must pay an annual student activity fee of $120.

Most students will also be required to bring or purchase a laptop computer. For information on required specifications, leasing and purchasing, please visit our website at http://www.du.edu/laptops/. The average cost of a laptop computer is approximately $1,400 USD. Please plan your finances accordingly.

The academic year consists of three quarters or nine months. If you choose to remain in the United States during the summer (three months), you will be responsible for your additional living expenses ($4,232). If you take classes in the summer, you will also be responsible for tuition and fees (approx. $11,000). Please prepare your finances accordingly. ALL RATES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
