Volunteer for the Ammi Hyde Interview

The Ammi Hyde Interviews are approaching and we encourage you to participate in helping DU choose students who are the best "fit" for the upcoming entering class. Through the Hyde Interview, we hope to gain impressions about prospective students' motivation and character while offering them an opportunity to give voice to their applications and individual strengths. The interview also provides our alumni with an opportunity to connect with prospective undergraduate students and to represent the University of Denver.

The following are some quick facts regarding the Hyde Interview and important information to keep in mind. For those of you who volunteered last year, thank you, and please note we have made some minor adjustments to improve the overall process.

National Interviews
  • Interviews will be conducted in November and February.
  • Approximately 6,000 interviews will be conducted in 30 cities including Denver.
  • The interview teams will be comprised of one faculty/staff member and two alumni for every prospective student.
Time Commitment
  • Interview team members can volunteer for days in November and February in cities near their homes.
  • Weekend interviews will begin at 9:30am and conclude by approximately 4:00pm.
  • Weekday interviews will begin at 1:00pm and conclude by approximately 8:00pm.
  • The interviews will be 20 minutes long, immediately followed by a 10 minute team discussion regarding the applicant.
  • Each team will conduct approximately 10 interviews per day.
  • Interview team members will receive on-site training on the first interview day.
  • Lunch or dinner will be provided
Questions and Scoring
  • Questions are being developed by a campus committee and will be adjusted from last year based on feedback from alumni, staff, faculty, and prospective students who participated last year.
  • Students will be evaluated on criteria that are concurrent with the values and mission of DU.
