Jenn Paar

About Me
I have been with DU for over 7 years, although my office is not on campus in Denver.  I am actually based in Illinois near Chicago, and I work with students that attend high school in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri and Wisconsin.  I do get back to campus 5 or 6 times a year though, and I might even see you at one of our Campus Visit Days. 

I graduated from Coe College in Iowa with a B.A. in Art.  While at Coe, I had a work study position in the Admission Office and loved it.  I am active in the Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling, and the National Association for College Admission Counseling.  I enjoy assisting students and their families with the college admission process.  I have worked in the admissions profession in the Midwest for over 17 years and am very familiar with many of the area high schools and guidance counselors.  When I have free time, I enjoy machine embroidery or a game of golf.  My golfing motto is “The more times you hit the ball, the more you get for your money.” 

The University of Denver is an exciting place!  There are very few medium sized, private universities that can offer so many amazing opportunities to their students.  I enjoy seeing what a student can accomplish in during their undergraduate time at DU.  I am always excited to hear about the travel abroad opportunities my Midwestern DU students are taking advantage of through the DU Cherrington Global Scholars Program.  This experience has made such a great impact in their lives and they are able to gain a cross cultural experience without having it become a financial burden on their family.

As an Admission Counselor, I assist students from Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Missouri and Wisconsin.
