Application Checklist

First-Year Applicants
  • Submit a completed Common Application for Undergraduate Admission
  • Submit an essay with your application (included in the Common Application)
  • Pay a $50 non-refundable application fee (check, money order or on-line payments accepted)
  • Submit a school counselor recommendation/report
  • Submit a teacher recommendation
  • Submit an official secondary school transcript or official verification of the High School Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  • Send the official results of the SAT (DU code is 4842) and/or ACT (DU code is 0534). The writing components for both the SAT and ACT will be accepted for review but will not be used for admission decisions
  • Register for your Hyde Interview
  • Music Majors - Music Audition is required. Contact the Lamont School of Music to arrange your audition at 303.871.6973
  • Art/Design Majors - Submit portfolio for scholarship consideration. BFA programs require portfolios. Contact the Art Department for more info at 1.800.876.3323
Transfer Applicants
  • Submit a completed Transfer Common Application
  • Submit an essay with your application (included in the Common Application)
  • Pay a $50 non-refundable application fee (check, money order or on-line payments accepted)
  • Submit official transcripts from all college-level study attempted at previous and/or current institutions
  • OPTIONAL: Submit a teacher, professor or advisor recommendation
  • IF YOU HAVE COMPLETED LESS THAN ONE YEAR OF COLLEGE STUDY (30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours), YOU MUST ALSO SUBMIT:
    1. an official secondary school transcript
    2. official results of the SAT and/or ACT
  • Register for your Hyde Interview
Adult and Adult-Transfer Students

(An adult applicant is an individual who has been out of high school three years or longer with NO previous college-level study. An adult-transfer applicant is a student 24 years of age or older who has completed some college-level study at another institution.)

  • Submit a completed Common Application for Undergraduate Admission
  • Submit an essay with your application (included in the Common Application)
  • Pay a $50 non-refundable application fee (check, money order or on-line payments accepted)
  • OPTIONAL: Submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher or employer
  • Adult students must provide an official secondary school transcript OR official verification of the High School Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  • Adult transfer students must submit official transcripts of all college-level study completed at previous and/or current institutions. If you have completed fewer than 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours of college study, you must also submit an official secondary school transcript or official results of the GED
  • Register for your Hyde Interview
